The nursery in Anstey was originally the village's Liberal Club. It had an upstairs function room, and hosted many a lively evening for the residents of Anstey for a long time.
Catering for children from ages 9 months to 4 years old, our Anstey nursery has 4 different areas whereby the different age ranges can. Sam and Paul bought the building in August 1994, getting the keys just in time for the Bank Holiday. After several weeks of hard work from a dedicated group of builders, the nursery opened on 27th October.
The nursery has looked after several generations of Anstey families now, plus many from further afield. We often have family members within the staff group, and many staff who have been with us for over 10 years..

The babies have two rooms on opposite sides of the main corridor. Each is set out with activities and toys suitable for our very youngest members of the nursery. The quieter room is used as a sleep room for. period of time after lunch each day.
The toddler unit for the under three's has its own entrance to the side but is linked internally to the rest of the building. The accommodation for the babies is a large spacious room with areas of interest and exploration which support the children's interest and development.
The children have plenty of space to develop and play in a safe manner. They also have their own bathroom facility, milk kitchen and laundry to the side.
The link through to the main building goes directly into one of the home rooms for the 2 to 3 year olds. This helps to ease your child's transition into the next age group as they can become familiar with the room next door.
There are two rooms for the 2 to 3 age group with specific areas for quiet and messy play. This gives your child a degree of choice over what activities they want to do and how long to do them. There is a separate bathroom for nappy changing and toilet training, and keeping their hands and teeth clean.
On the first floor we have a large open plan area and two smaller rooms for your children as they progress to 3 and 4 year olds, one of which is specifically for art and craft, there is also a separate bathroom. These rooms are equipped with age-appropriate resources for learning and creative play, which help your child gain knowledge and develop their physical and social skills to prepare them for primary school.
There is direct access from upstairs to the garden which has recently been redeveloped with log cabins, a Forest School area, a climbing wall and slides all surrounded by safety surfacing. This gives your child plenty of scope for physical outdoor activity. There are also quiet areas and digging and planting areas to give more opportunities for learning and play outdoors.
